There were no Obama Hilter or Glenn Beck posters at this tea party!
SODA organized Stillwater's very own march on Washington (Street) last night. The group of about 40 advocates started at Crepe Myrtle restaurant and ended at the Student Union where students shared their coming out stories. Read more about it here. A few NOW members attended the event also. If you attended, feel free to share your experiences in the comments section.
Even though it was cold and rainy outside, turnout was really good. The couple marching in front of me said it "shows our commitment to the cause," haha. Nobody was outside watching, but we drew some looks from inside of Coney Island and the Hokey Pokey, and of course the write up in the paper helped a lot. Nathan Poppe and his crew of photographers made sure that the article got to the presses in time to make it into the paper the very next day, so kudos to him!
